Recent jobs · three of them · all live

What they needed, what I did, and one honest limit each.

Every site here is live, so go and poke at it. I've kept the numbers to the ones I can stand behind.

01 · Anyone For Bridge · Tunbridge Wells

A five-page site, a logo and a flyer for a bridge teacher

Ravi Athwal teaches bridge in Tunbridge Wells and needed somewhere to send beginners, on paper and on a phone.

  • 98 / 100 mobile
  • 2.3 s to load
  • 531 KB page
  • 5 pages
  • Logo
  • Flyer

What I did

  1. 01

Built a five-page website by hand: one stylesheet, one script, no framework and no plugins to go out of date.

  2. 02

Designed the logo and an A5 flyer, and supplied the print file with bleed and crop marks. The QR code on the flyer points to the site.

  3. 03

Set it up so every change pushed to the code goes live on its own.

One real number

On a simulated mobile connection the home page scores 98 out of 100 for performance, with the main content showing in 2.3 seconds. The whole page is 531 KB. Measured 30 September 2026 with Lighthouse 12.8.2, two runs.

One honest limit

It is a simple site on purpose. There is no booking system, and Ravi takes enquiries by email and phone.

02 · Honestly Farm Kitchen · Ireland

Catering and Christmas pages inside an existing WordPress site

A family farm-kitchen business with restaurants and a farm shop, and a website that did not yet say it does catering.

  • 8 pages added
  • Inside WordPress
  • Seasonal switch
  • Nothing else moved

What I did

  1. 01

Added a Catering and Events section of eight pages inside their existing WordPress site, in their existing look.

  2. 02

Built and published the Christmas Parties page and a button on the home page that leads to it. It is seasonal, so it comes down in January and goes back up next year.

  3. 03

Added a menu dropdown so guests can find events and catering from any page.

One honest limit

I have not quoted a speed score here, because the theme and images were already there and I did not change them.

“We needed the catering side of the business on the website and Max just got on with it. Eight pages and the Christmas page, all inside the site we already had, and nothing else moved. He got back to us quickly every time.”

03 · Tamara Hammad · Surrey

A redesign for a marketing consultant

Tamara Hammad is a marketing consultant in Surrey with a WordPress site she wanted to keep editing herself. The old one had the right words in the wrong order, and it was slow on a phone.

  • WordPress rebuild
  • She edits it herself
  • Her words kept

What I did

  1. 01

Redesigned the site in WordPress so she can keep editing it herself.

  2. 02

Reorganised it around what a prospective client looks for first: who she is, what she offers, and how to get in touch.

  3. 03

Kept her brand and her own words.

One honest limit

It runs on a WordPress theme with a lot of images, so it is not as quick on a phone as I would like. A speed pass is on the list.

“Max rebuilt my site so I can edit it myself, kept my words and my branding, and moved things around so the important bits are first. He was patient with my changes.”
