  1. 01
    The job

The work is what is written in my quote or confirmed by message (the "scope"). Anything not in the scope is not included. If you want more, I will tell you the price before I do it.

  2. 02
    Price and payment

The price is fixed and stated in pounds. Fixes are paid before I start, by the payment link I send. Builds are 50% before I start and 50% before the site goes live on your domain. If I cannot fix a Quick Fix, you are not charged. Hosting, domain and any third-party licences are extra, at cost, and listed in the quote. If an invoice is unpaid after 14 days I may charge statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

  3. 03
    Timing

Delivery dates in my quote start when I have received payment and everything I asked for in the intake checklist. If you are slow to send things, the date moves by the same amount. Dates are working days and exclude weekends and UK bank holidays.

  4. 04
    Revisions

One-Page Site and Proper Small Site include two rounds of changes to the design and text we agreed. A round is one consolidated list of changes. More changes are quoted. Changes that add pages or features are a new job.

  5. 05
    What I need from you

Access by invite, never your password. Content and photos you have the right to use. Replies within five working days. If a third party (your old developer, your registrar, your host, Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy) blocks the work, I am not responsible for the delay.

  6. 06
    Ownership

When you have paid in full, you own the finished website design, text and images made for you, and I confirm this in writing (an email is enough). I keep ownership of my own tools, code libraries and templates, and you may use them as part of your site. You keep ownership of your domain name, which should be registered in your name. I may show the finished work on this site unless you tell me in writing within 30 days that you would rather I did not.

  7. 07
    Your content

You promise that the words, logos and photos you give me are yours to use. You are responsible for claims made on your site. I provide privacy and cookie text from a template; it is not legal advice.

  8. 08
    Hosting, domains and other companies

Some things are run by other companies, for example your host, domain registrar, Google, Meta, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, Cloudflare and payment providers. I do not control them. I am not responsible if they go down, change their terms, suspend an account or lose data. I will tell you what I can, help you move, and point you to their support. I do not promise rankings or a number of enquiries.

  9. 09
    Looked After (monthly care)

Costs £35 a month or £350 a year, charged in advance, cancel any time by message before the next charge. It covers sites I built or WordPress sites where I hold Administrator access. It includes hosting, backups, monitoring and two small edits a month of up to 30 minutes each. It does not cover new pages, redesigns, Google work or sites on Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy. If you cancel, your site stays live until the end of the period paid and I will hand over the files and help move the domain.

  10. 10
    Refunds

Fixes: if I cannot fix the problem, I refund you. Builds: the deposit covers work already done and is not refunded once I have started, unless I fail to deliver the agreed scope.

  11. 11
If you are buying as an individual, not for a business

You can cancel within 14 days of agreeing the work without giving a reason. If you ask me to start during those 14 days, you agree to pay for the work I have done up to the point you cancel. Nothing here affects your legal rights.

  12. 12
    Liability

I will do the work with reasonable care and skill. My total liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid me for the job, and I am not liable for lost profits, lost business or loss of data. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

  13. 13
    Your information

I use what you send me only to do the job and keep it only as long as needed. I do not sell it. The details are in the privacy notice.

  14. 14
    Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. By paying the deposit or the fix fee you agree to them.

Send me the thing that's annoying you about your site.

A link and a sentence is enough. I'll reply with a price, in writing, before I touch anything. I reply the same day.
